Saturday 30th June.
No pictures this time. A family (cousins) outings to Sharods in Gants Hill/Ilford/Barkingside area. They don't have a web site apparently, but there is a page on Trip Advisor.http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g186338-d1317333-Reviews-Sharod-London_England.html
I have been there several times, and it does not disappoint. The staff are excellent, and there is always a drink at the end thrown in and some confectionary gift. Sometimes some chocolates, or After Eights, and bizarrely last night, some Cadbury's Creme Eggs.
I shared a Shami Kebab with my wife (Good, and sizzling hot), and followed by their special tandoori biryani. Not cutting edge stuff, but reliable. Huge portions, which justified sharing the starter, and lots of poppadoms. Probably an 8 on the CHOF scale, but they tried at least with the hot base. The place is always packed with the good and true of Essex. Almost certainly will go back.
On a side issue, earlier during the day I had been to the Masterpieces show in London, and bumped into David Linley, who is the image of his dad. I have never met him before, but he was charming, and his furniture is a true tribute to what is left of British Workmanship. http://www.davidlinley.com/about-linley/
